Golden Crown

“Golden Crown has always been an important store to downtown Guymon.  When I first moved here, I initially met many great people through Coffeeville and had many great experiences and made wonderful memories.  It was one of the first places that I felt welcome in Guymon.”  Just a few of the reasons that motivated owner Susan Barrias to purchase the store in 2015.  “ I was saddened by its closure and didn’t want to see that happen.  But you know, I didn’t touch flowers for five years after I purchased the store.  I was so nervous!”

Now, however, Susan and Cristina do all of the flowers for the store and they do an amazing job.  From silk flowers to fresh flowers and tuxedo rental to custom home decor, they have something or everyone.  As Cristina, the store manager likes to say, “We do it all!”  In the gift shop, visitors can find Bridgewater and Aromatique fragrances; Vera Bradley, Fossil and Rustic Cuff accessories; kitchen and home decor; the OPSU Fan Store; a local market featuring goods from local artists and entrepreneurs; and many more items.  All of these are great options for adding to a birthday, baby, or bridal registry! 

In addition to the flower shop and gift shop, Susan also offers Blum Event Center-Events by Golden Crown.  This amazing space is available for any event you can imagine. Susan, Cristina, and the team will take care of all of the details to ensure that your event is a success!

Golden Crown collaborates with other downtown businesses to present Shop and Dine on the first Thursday of every month.  This is a great way to get out and visit some of the stores in the downtown community, check out the special offering at Downtown Lounge, and maybe win a swag bag!

When asked about her motivation for continuing to operate the store, Susan said that she enjoys the opportunity to serve the community.  The store works to bring new ideas, styles, and trending fashions to Guymon.  “People want the trends that they see on TV or in a magazine.  There shouldn’t be a limit just because we are in Guymon.”

Community partnership is important to Susan and her team.  “We should leave a town better than when we arrived.  Always look for ways to contribute in a positive way.  It isn’t right to live in a place and not help or add to it.”

Flowers, gifts, events, and so much more await the people who step into this legacy store.  “This is part of the community’s memory.  That is why we didn’t change the name.  This space is important to Guymon.”  The Chamber is excited to honor Golden Crown as our May Business of the Month.  We appreciate all that they do for the community and the great partnerships they build.  Congratulations!!
